Fashion keeps evolving and I can’t say that I particularly like it. What’s trending this season might get scrapped the next, and staying abreast of all the changes is no easy task. Thankfully, I’ve managed to narrow down a few kinds of men’s clothing that never go out of style such as jeans or white shirts. To make things easier, here’s a list of top five wardrobe essentials for the men folk.

1. White shirt

A crisp white shirt fits any and every occasion. This essential men’s clothing is the next best thing after jeans and it has done wonders for the average man’s closet. The best benefit of a white shirt is that you can experiment with it. White shirt & blue jeans – great for a casual brunch. With plaid trousers – you’re all set for that meeting. With beige chinos – perfect for a date, and you get the drift.

2. Boot-cut jeans

We will say it again – men's jeans is the best invention that’s happened to the men’s world of fashion. Ever since Levi Strauss discovered the blue-dyed beauty, everything’s been better. While there are many different types of jeans, I personally think the boot-cut jeans are the best. This trend has been widely accepted for over a decade and certainly won’t disappear anytime soon. Probably, because it looks great on just about everyone and suits any occasion.

3. Bomber Jackets

Usually made from light-weight nylon, bomber jackets are extremely versatile and can be worn round the year. Whether it’s a long drive in the dead of the night, a hiking trip, or simply a walk to the store – bomber jackets are one of those must-have essentials. This men’s clothing is a common category that most brands cater to; which means you’ll have no trouble finding it if you need to buy one.

4. Gingham shirts

Wonder what’s the deal with Gingham shirts? Well, it looks good on just about everyone. It can pass equally well for a formal or casual occasion – for a meeting with clients or a drink at the bar! And that’s why the checked style is still very much ‘in’. It’s a safe bet and it has to be in your closet.

5. Khaki Pants

When the formal, plaid trousers for men is just too formal and denim is too casual, let Khaki pants come to the rescue. This apparel strikes a fine balance without being too much of a formal or casual wear. A little heavier than the average trousers, they can be teamed with crisp white shirts, a tweed jacket, a casual Gingham shirt and almost everything else. If you don’t already own one, it’s high-time you got yourself a pair of Khaki pants.
